Stefan Kapicic joined Drew Barrymore, John Krasinski and Kristen Bell in ‘WHALES‘, a Working Title project for Universal.

Ken Kwapis (He’s Just Not That Into You, The Office) is attached to direct “WHALES”, which was formerly known as ‘Everybody Loves Whales‘. It is based on the nonfiction book “Freeing the Whales: How the Media Created the World’s Greatest Non-Event” by Tom Rose.

Set in Cold War-era 1988, “WHALES” tells the true story of a small-town news reporter (Krasinski) and a Greenpeace volunteer (Barrymore) who enlist the help of rival superpowers to save three majestic gray whales trapped under the ice of the Arctic Circle. Working Title‘s Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Liza Chasin are producing with Anonymous Content‘s Steve Golin and Michael Sugar.
